Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana ,  popularly known as the PM-Kisan Yojana is a scheme that is meant to benefit the farmers in the country. And, in a bid to provide relief to the country’s farmers who fall under the beneficiary list of the PM-Kisan Yojana, the Government of India during the coronavirus lockdown period has released Rs 17,793 crores from March 24, 2020, till date. According to the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare release on April 20 evening, the move will help around 8.89 crore farmer families. The statement also mentioned that in order to provide food security during the prevailing crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government decided to distribute pulses to the eligible households under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. The distribution of pulses will benefit around 19.50 crore household spread across 36 States and Union territories.
